Please? I really want to go out there, but I want to go with you." Zane sighed into the phone, but just continued to watch the T.V. He was watching a movie called Paranormal Activity which was rumoured to be a terrifying, based on a true story kind of movie. But to him, it wasn't even that scary and he knew it wasn't real clips of real footage, which ruined it. Zane then remembered he had Christine on the phone and replied,"But....fine. I'll be there in, like, ten minutes." [/b] He heard Christine sqeal in happiness on the other end, "You're the best! See ya in ten minutes!" The call then ended. Zane slipped his phone in his pocket and stood from the couch with the remote in hand. He pressed the off button and made his way toward the front door, grabbing his keys on the way. Zane put the key into the ignition and turned it, listening to the engine to his black Jeep Cherokee starting up. Music blared through the speakers and he grabbed his still playing Ipod and turned the song, not even bothering the sound. He loved the beat of the drums shaking the car. He then pulled out of the parking lot and on his way to his old house. Hopefully his stepmother wouldn't be there so she wouldn't yell at him. He shook his head and sighed to himself. When he finally pulled into their driveway, he stopped the car and opened the door, jumping out. He made his way to the front door, but before he could even ring the doorbell, Christine swung open the door and practically tackled him in a hug. Zane chuckled and gave her a gentle hug back. Christine's dark brown hair reached to her shoulder blades and her blue eyes shined happily. "Let's go. Get in the car,"[/b] He told her as he let go of her and got into his car. Once they got into the parking lot in front of the River Walk, Zane parked and got out the car, followed by Christine. "So, why did you want to come out here?"[/b] He asked her. Christine grinned and replied, "Check out the guys. After all, a lot of cute ones come here and swim." Zane sighed and shook his head. Great, just great. Christine giggled and grabbed Zane's hand, pulling him along. He tensed once he saw a big group of teenage boys nearby and Christine was walking straight to them. He had to admit, she had natural beauty and any guy would be lucky to have her. The teenagers looked so familiar to Zane, and he suddenly became curious enough to stop being so reluctant to follow Christine. The sun reflected blazing hot weather off the Earth and throughout Conway. The River Walk is a splendid place to just hang out and dip into the bone chilling water to satisfy even the most water quenching folks. A young group of males walk purposely on the River walk, heading to the dock which the walk provides for water quenchers such as them. Ashton, Jared, Patrick, Kyle, Kevin, and even Sam were all aboard to go swimming in the river and set off fireworks at night. That is until the guys are forced off the perimeter by the cops or land owners. Jared brought along his personal music box to play some sick bands, for example Ashton's band Burn Notice, while they horsed around. The guys approached the dock, climbing down the short flight of stairs, when kevin bolted before the group and leaped into the river with a large grin and a shout. Ashton and his two band mates, Patrick and Kyle, raced after him. They leaped into the water making a large splash. Ashton surfaced and swam for the tall but thin platform sitting along the water, and leaning on the bridge beside them.
Jared scanned the area trying to locate a power plug so he can roar up the music player he brought. He sat the music box at the bottom of the stairs where it would be easy to reach the power plug and hear the music. In the background you could here the constant beating of car tires and bridge, vehicles rolling beside one another and the most silent chirps of birds. Sam and Jared were the only ones who have yet to be in the water. Sam joked around,"Should I swim, or tan first?"
[/b] Jared chuckled, plugging the music box in, "Tan, then I won't have to hear you talk." Sam frowned, "Ouch."[/b] Both smiled. Kevin had grabbed a hand full of mud from the bottom of the river. Kev swam to the dock, grabbing Jared's attention without Sam's knowledge. Jared smirked when Kevin waved a hand before his face for code: FACED. A small game the guys like to play, though Kevin's about to put a twist on it. Jared followed along, keeping Sam's attention. "Sam, come here for a sec, I need some help."[/b] Sam nodded and walked slowly to Jared. Kevin silently climbed onto the dock, sneaking behind Sam with mud in hand. "Sam!"[/b] Kevin yelled his name from behind, waiting for Sam to spin around. Sam turned around, and once he did Kevin wiped the mud on Sam's face and shouted, "FACED!"[/b] Kevin laughed and bolted back into the water. Jared laughed while Sam grit his teeth, bald his fist and yelled after Kevin, "You are so dead, Kevin!"[/b] While Sam tackled and horsed played with Kevin in the water, Ashton finally made it to the top of the platform. He grinned his pearly white teeth and said to his friends, "Hey guys, bet you can't do this!" Ashton walked back a few feet before breaking out into an run and jumping off the platform doing a flying squirrel in the air before pounding into the river's surface. Sam climbed back onto the dock, with Kevin following close behind him. "Yea, yea I can do that with my eyes closed!" Jared was about to make a run into the river when he heard a petite voice. "Hi!"[/b] Sam, Kevin, and Jared all turned their attention to a fragile, but beautiful girl, and what would come off as her date. Sam instantly smirked. Kevin rolled his eyes, "Girls always ruin the fun."[/b] He had to admit he too believed the girl was beautiful, but unlike Sam, Kevin could keep his flirtation/EGO controlled. Sam took a foot forward, but Jared swiftly grabbed his arm to stop him. Jared could feel something wrong. Not too much in the supernatural friend but enough to keep him catious about the two new comers. Sam snatched his arm back and walked slowly toward the girl, his full attention directed to her. Kevin rolled his eyes, but stood his ground. Kevin looked up to Sam. Why you ask? Well he didn't have any older brothers to look up to, and Sam was always around. Kevin doesn't always take Sam's advice or "tips", he just wanted to fit in with the gang. But when Sam's wrapped up in a girl, Kevin tends to be more of himself, just with an attitude. Sam parked himself beside the girl, not bothering to acknowledge the guy, and placed a hand on her hip, pulling her a bit closer to him. But Zane ignored this and looked around at the teenage boys, even one on the thin, tall platform resting in the water. Some names just started to come to him. He knew these guys from high school. But he only knew Sam and Jared, which were the only boys that he saw clearly. He had seen three on the platform, but one was in the water and the others he just didn't know. Ashton...Zane could remember a boy named Ashton hanging out with Jared and Sam and there was a possibility that he was the one in the water. The younger looking one he didn't know. I shouldn't have let Christine come here... Zane knew Sam had an EGO, which bothered him.
"Hello, beautiful." Zane tensed when he heard Sam's voice. He looked over at Christine and noticed a hand on her hip, and looked up to see Sam. Zane's hands balled up into fists, his protective side coming out. Christine was really the only one of his stepsisters that he was so protective of. She's more wild, immature, and crazy than the others so he doesn't have to worry about the others. Shattered ankle... Zane was using his psychic abilities, which injected pain of the things he pictures in his mind, but they aren't actually hurt. Zane looked down at Sam's ankle and pictured his bone in pieces, which is a shattered ankle, and that exact moment Sam's ankle felt like it was shattered. "Don't touch her, Sam." [/b] Sam's eye's widened like a deer in headlight. Not to the fact the guy he didn't recognize right away knew his name, but the sudden pain in his ankle. His ankle felt as though someone used a shotgun and blew his foot right off. However he knew it had to be his bone, shattering. He felt nothing like it. Sam buckled, dropping to the floor, grabbing his leg and gritting his teeth after yelling painfully. He breathed in and out harshly, trying to to control his breathing. Jared's eye's widened then narrowed to the guy which blurted out Sam's name. Jared relaxed a bit when he noticed the familiar face from chemistry class a while back. His name was Zane Reed. Kevin reacted with instinct, racing to his cousin's side. "Sam! Sam, what happened!"From the platform Ashton was about to leap when he heard Sam's painful shout. Ashton lost his balance and fell off. On the dock Kevin stood and faced Zane, gritting his teeth. "What the hell did you do!?"[/b] Jared took a step forward, "Relax Kevin."[/b] Kevin shook his head and grabbed Zane's shirt collar, "Who the hell do you think you are injuring him!"[/b] Jared raised a brow and thought, Kevin has a point at some level of his argument. None of us could have harmed Sam...so that would leave. Jared's thought were caught off when Kevin's head seem to jerk to the side. Jared could have sworn he heart a slapping sound. Ashton surface to witness Sam on the floor holding his ankle and Kevin holding his face. What the hell's happening over there? Ashton swam over to the dock and climbed aboard. He noticed two new comers. A girl and a familiar face. Zane Austin Reed. He had many classes with the guy. What is he doing here? Ashton shook himself back to the reality before him and ran over to Sam first. "Sam... Sam what happened are you alright?"[/b] Ashton turned to Kevin when Sam spoke, "I don't know my ankle.... just blew out... fucking hurts!" Kevin seemed in a trance. He watched Christine slowly back away from Sam with her eyes slightly wide. Zane gently grabbed her wrist and slowly pulled her behind him, which she willingly did. He could tell she was scared, confused, and curious at the same time. "Sam! Sam, what happened!" Zane glanced between the youngest and Sam, running a hand through his hair.
"Relax Kevin." Feeling someone grab his shirt collar, Zane looked down to see the one who Jared called Kevin. "Who the hell do you think you are injuring him!" Zane smirked and glanced at Kevin's cheek, picturing a disembodied hand rearing back and slapping him as hard as it could. He watched as Kevin's head jerked to the side and spoke, "I didn't." It was the truth. Short and simple.
Glancing back at Christine, he noticed her looking at Sam with sympathetic eyes. But then she caught him looking at her and glared. She's actually starting to believe I hurt him...she's listening to Kevin... Luckily, she didn't believe him enough. If she was in full belief, she wouldn't even be near Zane. Zane caught sight of another boy running over and asking Sam what happened, who answered but Zane didn't hear him. Instead, he was looking at the boy and instantly knew his name. Ashton Jayden Davidson. Of course. Just as he figured, Ashton would be with Jared and Sam. Zane shook his head slightly and glanced at Kevin who seemed in a trance. Zane felt eyes on him and turned his head to find Ashton watching him. Zane only smirked.

Jared felt completely uncomfortable with Zane here with his friends. Jared's the smartest in the group, and he knew it had to be Zane. Is he some kind of supernatural being, Jared thought to himself glaring at Zane, or is he just some psycho who takes pleasure in hurting people. But if he did hurt them... how? Ashton relaxed himself, trying to be friendly to the new comers,"Hey. I'm Ashton." His face then grew tense and serious,"But if you are doing anything to hurt my friends, I ask you to stop." When you hurt Ashton's friends, you deal with him.
Kevin broke out of his trance spinning around to meet Ashton's serious face with his own. "Why are you being nice to this jerk! He hurt Sam... and he..."
[/b] He placed a gentle hand on his cheek. It actually felt a little less warm, and the pain was going away. Sam groaned, "Forget it, Kevin."[/b] Sam picked himself up, studying his ankle and starting to walk on it. He walked all the way to Ashton with a slight limb. "It's nothing I can't handle."[/b] Kevin narrowed his eye and followed Sam to Ashton's side as well. He glared to Zane before he dived into the river. Ashton sighed, feeling a bit more relaxed with less tension hanging around. Ashton then offered Zane and his girl a smile, "We don't need to have trouble. If you want to join us, you can." Jared flinched, Ashton,[/b] he spoke in a hushed voice, "You can't be serious."[/b] Ashton talked over his shoulder, "Be nice Jared. We have to be nice. Besides we can't let him ruin our fun." He wasn't freaking out like the others, but instead he was watching Zane. Of course, Zane doesn't keep his psychic abilities a secret. Supernatural and paranormal hunters are more focused on demons, ghosts, etc. Not psychic kids. If Jared was a supernatural hunter, Zane still wouldn't keep it a secret. He'd probably find out one way or another anyway. "Hey. I'm Ashton. But if you are doing anything to hurt my friends, I ask you to stop." Christine smiled at Ashton in reply. "Don't worry, they're not hurt. They just feel like their hurt." Zane smirked and glanced over to Jared as he spoke. That's the biggest hint I'm giving him.
When Ashton was done speaking, Christine grabbed Zane's hand and pulled him over to the side, speaking in a hushed tone, "What does that mean, Zane? You are hurting them! Why? Why can't you just let me have some fun. You let Jade, Chloe, and Rina have fun on their own! Why not me?" Zane narrowed his eyes and shook his head,"First, you're the youngest. Second, you're the wildest and craziest. I'm protecting you from...guys like that. They'll just make you think you're the center of their attention, then break your heart. Then I'll have to hear about it. I do not want to listen to you go on and on about that." Christine looked at the ground, then at Zane with a faint smile, "But..you would listen. Right?" Zane shook his head and chuckled,"I will, but reluctantly. I listen to your stories enough." [/b] He offered a playful smile as Christine lightly punched his arm. "You're so mean to me," she told him with a soft laugh. "It's my job."[/b] "We don't need to have trouble. If you want to join us, you can." Zane opened his mouth to say no, but Christine stopped him. "Please, Zane? I promise I won't let him get to me. And plus, you'll be there!" Her eyes were bright with happiness. God. Sixteen year olds... Zane sighed and nodded his reply to Ashton, offering a smile. His fun side was soon to come out. Christine smiled at Zane and hugged him lightly and quickly before walking away. "Time to have fun." Jared grabbed Ashton's arm,"Don't do anything reckless. Something's wrong with that boy,"he told Ashton in a hushed voice. Ashton smirked. Jared, you should know me better then that. Ashton parked himself in front of Zane and Christine, which in Ashton's favor on the dock. Ashton smirked,"There's a rule here. If your going to join us, you have to get wet." At that he sprinted forward, grabbing both Zane and the girl. He tackled them into the chilling cold river.
Ashton released them underwater and swam to the surface. His head popped out of the water. Ashton was wearing a huge grin then he blurted out laughing. Jared, Sam, and even Kevin from the platform watched curiously. Each wondering the same thing,Will he hurt Ashton?

Zane was suddenly in the bone chilling water, which confused him. What the crap...is going on? He opened his eyes, one of the things he taught himself to do, and looked around. He noticed Christine and Ashton had surfaced already. It was just then he realized he was out of oxygen and he also needed to surface. He used his arms to swim to the top and busted out of the water, taking in a huge, deep breath of air. Zane looked around, then at Ashton. He actually liked the cold water against his skin in the humidity and smiled just faintly. He pushed his now wet bangs out of his eyes and to their normal position. Zane watched Christine as she grabbed the edge of the dock and pulled herself up. She slowly sat beside Sam and watched Ashton and Zane in the water. Zane swam over to Ashton and placed him into a playful headlock, "Nice stunt, Ashton." [/b] Fun Zane was now unleashed. The guys watching from the dock were surprised Zane didn't hurt Ashton. Instead Zane swam over to Ashton and successfully put him in a headlock. "Nice stunt, Ashton." Ashton fought against his headlock, chuckling. "I have plenty more where that came from, Zane."
[/b] Ashton tackled him into the depths of the water and gave him a knuckle sandwich to really mess up his hair. Sam sat on the dock, dipping his legs into the water. He could almost feel his ankle completely normal again. When the pain first arose he didn't thing his ankle would ever be the same again. But it as as though he never hurt it now. He glanced up at Christine who made her way over to him and climbed on the dock to sit by him. Sam would be smart to stay his distance after what just happened. However Sam's a fool when it comes to beautiful ladies. Jared smiled, feeling relieved that everything started to go smoothly again. He turned on the music player and Dynamite by Taio Cruz boomed through the speakers. Jared then bolted to the water and jumped in. Splashing a bit on Sam. Which he didn't care. Kevin was with Patrick and Kyle on the platform. Kyle spoke, "Who's the noobs?"[/b] Kevin groaned, "His name's Zane or whatever. The girl.. I don't know her name but they're probably together." Patrick laughed and watched Sam slid closer beside Christine, "Well Sam better be careful he's moving in on a taken chick."[/b] Kevin lowed his eyes then jumped off the platform, did a flip in the air and slashed into the river. Zane chuckled and was suddenly tackled under the water. Before he put Ashton in a headlock, he could tell everyone was watching intensly. He knew they were scared he'd hurt Ashton for what he did. He knew Ashton's friends were relieved that Zane had lightened up. He popped up to the surface and took in the oxygen and air. Zane started to fix his hair back to normal after Ashton gave him the knuckle sandwich under water.
Christine smiled at Sam and spoke, "I'm Christine." She glanced over to Zane and remembered what he'd said about Sam and sighed to herself. I'm not that much of an idiot...she though to herself. she had to admit, she did need some protection. But she didn't want as much as Zane was giving her. Christine sighed and looked over at Sam, "I'm sorry about my step-brother. He's a bit...protective." She smiled as he moved closer.
Zane glanced over toward Christine just to see Sam sliding closer to her. He almost lost control, but took in a deep breath. Calm down... Zane turned to see Jared come to the surface just feet away from him. Zane ran a hand through his hair and sucked in air before disappearing back under the water.

Sam smirked to Christine,"What a beautiful name. Guess you have the privilege to know mine."
[/b] Sam then glanced over to Zane in the water, noticing her was doing the same. His smirk widen while he spoke, "About your step-brother, he was probably intimidated by me. So he did his little magic trick." Step-brother huh, Sam thought, Lucky me. Sam leaned into her frame, his smirk still visible and whispered, "Beautiful name, for a beautiful girl."[/b] Jared surfaced after jumping in the river. He shook his head to quick dry his hair. He didn't care if it was messy. Jared noticed Zane staring at him before he disappeared into the water. Jared lowered his eyes. Ashton grinned his pearly white teeth when he saw Jared. "Jared, my man, nice of you to join us!" Jared chuckled and offered a smile. Kevin surfaced the water, a bit nervous not to see Zane anywhere. "Watch out!"[/b] Kyle shouted from the platform. Patrick had already jumped off the platform, believing Kevin swam out of jumping reach. Kevin dipped under the water, trying to sink low enough to dodge the blow. But when Patrick hit the water, he hit Kevin too. Kevin gasp, the water flooding in his lungs. Patrick surface, feeling pain in his ribs. "Kevin?"[/b] Kevin cursed in his thoughts. He forced himself the swim through the pain and surface the water. "Kevin! Man I'm sorry I thought-"[/b] Kevin threw up in his mouth, tasting blood. His eyes widened a bit, then he relaxed his face. "You ok?"[/b] Kevin nodded. Then muttered, "I'm fine."[/b] Kevin then made his way to the dock, every stroke sending pain through his entire body. Sam, I don't think Zane would hurt someone...[/i] But she wasn't so sure herself. Christine felt him lean into her and tensed, finally looking up to see their faces just inches away. "Beautiful name, for a beautiful girl." It took Christine a second to respond, "T-thanks."[/b] Chill out, Zane. I mean, she'll push him away! I told her what he's like, and she listened. But I don't know... He wasn't too sure. But he had to calm himself. Let her do what she wants. That is, until it gets out of hand. Zane grit his teeth. This whole time, he was underwater. Water had always calmed him, for some reason he didn't know. But also, he could stay underwater without breathing for about a minute or two. Christine was so amazed by this. Zane witness the whole 'Patrick and Kevin' thing underwater. First he heard a slash, then turned to see Kevin underwater, but just faintly. This riverwater wasn't too clear. He then heard another splash and saw another boy had jumped right ontop of Kevin. Zane then realized he needed air and busted to out of the water right where he had gone underwater. He muttered under his breath, "Three...two...one."[/b] Just as 'one' escaped Zane's lips, Kevin popped up. That had to hurt... Ashton brought to his attention Kevin swimming to the dock with a bit of a limp. For swimming that is. Ashton felt something was wrong and started swimming after him. Jared glanced over at Kyle and said,"What happened?"
[/b] Kyle spoke loudly so Jared could hear, "Patrick jumped off the platform and Kevin got smashed underneath when he came down. I think he's hurt." Kevin climbed onto the dock, gritting his teeth to the pain shooting through his body. Damn,Kevin thought. Sam watched Kevin get out of the water and perked up when he witnessed a massive bruise on his ribs. "Kevin... what the hell dude?" Kevin followed his stare to his ribs and also noticed the sick bruise. Kevin laughed it off. God even laughing hurts, Kevin thought. "It's nothing."[/b] Ashton climbed onto the deck light a monkey, quick. Kevin was able to grab a towel and wrap it around his neck. The length was long enough to cover his bruise. All before Ashton got on the dock. "Kevin, you ok?" Kevin nodded, "I'm fine..." Sam raised a brow. "No...dude you have a-" Kevin interrupted Sam with a surprisingly stern voice. "I'm fine. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -LITTLE DARLING, THE SMILES RETURNING TO THE FACESlittle darling, it seems like years since it's been here- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The teenage psychic was still underwater, swimming to the very, very bottom, to the river floor. where he'd seen a slight glimmer of something. curiosity had taken the best of him, no matter if he started to have convulsions from loss of oxygen, or passing out. he swam directly toward the glimmering object, like an arrow toward a target. once he got close enough, he noticed it was a gold necklace, and picked it up. he wrapped the chain around his fingers so it wouldn't fall as he swam, and when he started to feel pain in his chest, needing oxygen, he pushed off the floor and reappearing at the surface. he gasped her breath, but then coughed up water and shook his head. jeez....
he slowly got out of the water, sitting on the side of the dock, where he'd grabbed onto to get out. he sat there, his full attention on that necklace that seemed to distract him from all the commotion behind him. even from christine and sam. it was rusted, which means it had been down there for a while. a long while. when zane turned it on it's side, he noticed that the oval shaped pendant was a locket. without much effort, he pried it open, and a soggy piece of paper fell onto his lap.
zane set the necklace down beside him, picking up the peice of paper which was folded into a tiny, tiny square. slowly, he unfolded it, revealing an extremely colorful picture. it had been washed out just a little from the water, but he knew if he studied it long enough, he could be able to tell what it was of. what he noticed made him freeze. it was him.
