Set your thoughts on a world far off Where we only cry from joy Alex was sitting at a table in the far back of the library. Naturally, it was night time. That meant less people and less temptation. Alex was a late night owl who loved her personal time. She liked to curl up with a good book and let go of her worries and troubles. She could have an adventure right in the safety of the library. Sure she had her mini library back at her place, but the public one had so many books with many new adventures just waiting to be journeyed. At the moment she was reading a book on cooking. She loved to cook and was looking for new recipies to use. Besides, cooking helped keep her mind off of the cravings she constantly had. Lately those cravings had been getting worse. She hadn't had any human blood in so long. Of course this was all due to her morals about humans. She wouldn't allow herself to feed unless absolutely necessary. She was startled out of her musings due to her ears picking up on a noise. She could hear the heartbeats of the humans still in the library. However, that wasn't the source of her focus. She could hear footsteps. Someone was starting to approach her secret spot. She wondered who was approaching. Suddenly, the footsteps stopped. She could hear breathing. Her anxiety and curiosity got the best of her. "Who's there?" she asked worried. Lyrics: Set Apart This Dream by Flyleaf Tags: Open

Ashton awoke from his trance and pried his eyes from the window and met his mother's concern stare. The two were on their way home from visiting the Hospital. His Father was dangerously ill and he only has about a month, says the doctors, to live. His heart was failing him. Ashton's father's side of the family were famous for heart failures. Makes Ashton think,am I next in line?

Before he could even slip the question passed his lips, his mother answered him. "I need you to return these book for me, please. Oh and I need a new cook book! I want to make something new and interesting." "Like your soup," he blurted out. The last time his mother tried something "new & interesting" it had to be soup. Soup, that his mother experimented on off the cook book and when Ashton tried it.... Ashton threw up in his mouth thinking about it. His mother sighed, "Well that's why I want you to get it for me! So you can pick what I make this time." Ashton grabbed her books and climbed out of the door. The three cook books slid down the silver tray and into the huge basket of used books. Set your thoughts on a world far off Where we only cry from joy Alex let out a small sigh of relief when she found it was a human. Even though it was dangerous to play with fire, she was sure she could handle herself and not attack anyone. She looked up at Ashton with interest. He didn't seem like the kind of person to want to cook. "Sorry about that, just a little paranoid." She apologized for her little outburst earlier.
She decided to help this guy. It would give her something to do and she liked to help others. "I'm Alex." she smiled. It was only fair to introduce herself since he did. "Something non-ruinable you say?" she asked with the corners of her lips turning up. That was going to be a bit hard to find. Alex had experience in the cooking field and she knew a thing or two. One of those things was that experience was needed in order to not ruin a good recipe.
Alex sighed unsure where to start. "First of all, is the person making this good with the kitchen? Can they follow instructions well?" she asked. That was the basis for creating a good meal. The result is based on the creator. The creator should have basic skills and be able to follow instructions. If they couldn't do something simple like that, well the recipe was sure to be unedible.

"Honestly," he scratched the back of his head,"No. She's uh... not someone who should be cooking, but wont give up on it. My Dad was the one who cooked." He narrowed his eyes in thought of his father. The old man resting on his death bed waiting patiently for his heart to fail. Ashton shook his head and replaced his frown with a smile.
Alex, huh? Maybe it's short for Alexandra or something. Hmm... not too mention she's pretty cute. "I appreciate your help, I own you one." The cell phone in Ashton pocket blurted out a classic ACDC song and interrupted them. Ashton digs it out of his pocket and glanced at the colarID. Crap It's my Mom. Ashton held up a finger with an apologetic smile. "Yes. That's fine. Yea, I don't mind I'll walk home. Sure. Bye." He hung up the phone and slid it back into his pocket. "Sorry, where were we?"

Set your thoughts on a world far off Where we only cry from joy Alex couldn't help herself and ended up laughing a light hearted laugh. So, the chef was his mom. He didn't seem to like her cooking at all. Well, at least she had a drive and passion for it. "I'm sure she's not that bad." Alex grinned. "Maybe since she's so determined, she'll get tons better." Alex added. She managed to catch the narrowing of Ashton's eyes as he spoke of his dad. So, he didn't seem to like his dad. Well, Alex wouldn't try to bring that to surface. The library was one of her havens and she believed it was a place to be happy and at ease. She smiled when she was thanked. "No problem." she commented. "Besides I like to help others." she added. Helping people is something she had done a lot in her recent years. It was very fun and rewarding. Not to mention it gave her something to do. She gave a nod when he signaled to wait a minute once his phone rang. He seemed to be a very respectful person. She deduced this by the way he was interacting with her and the person on his phone. He was very cool and nice. She smiled when he started to resume their conversation. "Nice ringtone." she complimented. Music was a key part of Alex's life. Specifically rock and alternative music. "Well, I might have a few suggestions for recipes your mom can cook." Alex answered. She bent down to the bottom shelf and fingered the books in the familiar section. Her fingers finally came to rest on one book. She took it out and stood back up. Without checking the title, she handed it to him. She didn't need to look at the title to know it was the right book. Having spent so much time in the library, she knew the location of each book on cooking. The one she handed him was "100 Basic Recipes". It had recipes so easy that ten year olds could make some of them. "This book should help out a lot." she smiled. In fact, she had even used it a few times when she wanted to create something simple and fast. It truly was a life saver. "Pasta, Burgers, and even some homemade pizza can all be made thanks to that book." she informed. "Think she can handle it?" she grinned.

Alex nicely handed Ashton a book which he took with a smile. "Thanks." Automatically he flipped it open and started scanning the dishes. The same time she started informing him what's inside, he was reading it off the pages. Pasta, pizza, cheesburger... man this is 100 basic foods. Food you can get to go from resturants or something.Think she can handle it? Ashton laughed and glanced up from his book at Alex, "Haha, lets just say I might be needing you to save my life." He displayed a grin. God. Not kidding I might die later. Ashton stuck his nose back into the book trying to find a descent recipe to try, even though he's actually taking it home anyway. Upon turning the page, the thin sheet cut into his finger. Ashton bairly noticed his finger was bleeding. Hmm... maybe pizza wont be so bad to try. She can't mess it up too bad. I hope. Ashton turned another page and finally took notice on his bleeding finger when the blood stained the page. "Awh damn," he muttered out loud while taking a closer look. Just a paper cut, no biggy.[/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - who? | alex ann rosedale, open |anything to say? | neeoope. |wearing? | outfit playgroundmurder city - green day | lyrics |holly @ caution 2.o | credit |

Set your thoughts on a world far off Where we only cry from joy Alex felt happy when he smiled and accepted the book nicely. “ No problem.” She said with a dismissing wave of her hand. He has such a nice smile and it fits him so well. She didn’t feel like she was helping out all that much. However, she knew that his mom needed a solid start if she was going to cook an edible meal. The book gave all the basics and was the sure fire way to start her on the right track. She would be able to make tons of basic meals that would satisfy both her and Ashton. It got me on the right track and works wonders on people’s cooking abilities. So, why not his mom as well? She smirked at his reply to her question. Alex knew she wouldn’t be able to stand the current state of his mother’s cooking based on how he described it. “ Well, you can find me here.” She commented with a smile. After all, she did spend much of her time in the library. She was in here practically every day it was open and she was in town. So, if he needed to come back, he was sure to see her again. Time seemed to slow down as she noticed he cut his finger. Her eyes went wide with fear and surprise. The scent of his blood wafted towards her. It was a very alluring scent and she felt the familiar burning sensation at the back of her throat. Her fangs were trying to elongate. She was trying to stay stiff and not breathe. She couldn’t help but stare at his cut. She had to ball her fists to keep from reaching over and grabbing it then and there. When he turned the page, she saw the blood stain the page. It was so tempting and there was only one thought running through her head at the moment. Blood. Maybe he won’t notice if I just reach over and lick it for him. She kept on staring at it as she took deep strained breaths. “ You might want to fix that.” She said in a strained voice. Please take care of it before I loose control. Alex knew if it wasn’t taken care of soon, she wouldn’t be able to control it for much longer. Man, why did I not feed recently?

Ashton's brow furrowed. He couldn't help but notice her voice was strained. She must really not like blood. Ashton didn't know really how to fix it other than to lick it off for the moment. So he placed his bleeding finger before his mouth and licked his finger clean. Ugh... blood taste weird. Ashton knew seconds later that blood will be oozing back anyway. He wiped the blood on his shirt, staining the pearl white shirt with red. "That's the best I can do," he told her with a small smile. "Thanks, again." Ashton turned to leave the library, but after only a step he stopped. Man. I can't leave her here alone. Creeps could be wondering about and well... you know how that goes. Ashton turned on his heels and took a step forward toward Alex. "I'm on my way home, wanna walk with me?" Then she could meet the "cook-less" herself. Maybe even save me from tonights late dinner. He offered a wide smile, "So what do you say?" [/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - who? | alex ann rosedale, open |anything to say? | neeoope. |wearing? | outfit playgroundmurder city - green day | lyrics |holly @ caution 2.o | credit |

Set your thoughts on a world far off Where we only cry from joy Alex tried to calm herself down, but was finding it a bit hard to do thanks to the scent drifting around her. She shook her head a bit to try to get her mind off of the blood. She gave a relieved sigh when he licked it off himself. Her fangs went back to normal size and she breathed normally. She relaxed her hands so that they weren’t balled into fists anymore. Much better. Her eyes widened once again when he stained his shirt with blood. She tried to pry her eyes away from the reminder, but found it hard to do. She could still smell his scent, just not as bad. This day was starting to take a turn for the worst. “ That’s okay, at least you did something.” Alex smiled at him. It’s definitely better than nothing.“ No problem.” She smiled in reply to his thanks. She began to relax and ease up as he turned to leave. I’m going to have to go hunt tonight. She started to sit back down when she heard footsteps coming back. She already knew it was Ashton by his scent. When he invited her to come with, she didn’t know what to do. She was unsure if she should keep on playing with fire like this. The blood stain could still be seen on his shirt. She didn’t know how much control she could keep. However, she also wanted to go with him. She wanted company since she was going to get bored again once he left. I so shouldn’t be doing this. “ Alright, I’ll take you up on that offer.” She decided smiling in return.

"Alright I'll take you up on that offer." Ashton grinned when she not only made up her mind, but chose to go with him. He felt oddly a bit too happy to have to walking by his site tonight. "Great, then how about let's get out of here." Ashton led the way pass the shelves of books and to the elevators near by. Originally he would have taken the stairs, but he had the sudden urge to take the elevator. Maybe he wanted her to take a load off her feet for about a minute before they set off for a mile walk.
Ashton pressed the "down" arrow button for the elevator to wake up from down stars and roar it's way up to their level. He glanced over to her direction and offered a smile. A brief moment later the doors slid open and the two wondered inside. Ashton pressed the ground level button and leaned against the cool elevator wall. They were on the top floor. Third level.
Not even reaching the secound level mark the elevator suddenly shuts down. Ashton narrowed his eyes, what the heck? He started to press the panic button or try the elevator phone, but it was all down. Next thing you hear is thunder and lighting screaming outside. "Damn. Powers out." He laughed and glanced over his shoulder to Alex,"Guess we're going to be stuck in here for a while." Which honestly I don't mind at all, he thought while offering her a smile.

Set your thoughts on a world far off Where we only cry from joy Alex smiled at his happiness that she accepted his offer. I guess it won’t take too long. I should be just fine. She was very happy to have his company. Hopefully the outside air could take her mind off of his scent and the alluring blood on his shirt. “ Right after you.” She said grabbing her purse. Alex didn’t like elevators too much. Sure, they were fast and efficient. However, more things could go wrong on an elevator than the stairs. Maybe things would be okay this time and nothing bad would happen. I just can’t take the close proximity. I’ll probably end up loosing control. She wasn’t too surprised that he chose to take the elevator over the stairs. She smiled back at him while they were waiting for the elevator to come down. She went in the elevator with him and leaned against the wall. She took out her phone briefly to check the time. It wasn’t too late. She could go hunting later or even early morning before the sun rose. Alex was startled out of her thoughts when the elevator got stuck. Shoot, I knew this was a mistake. She glared at the elevator doors. Her hopes of getting let out were all crushed when Ashton couldn’t get through using panic or the phone. When she heard the lightning and thunder, she frowned. She loved storms and she loved to watch them. When he said that they were going to be in there for a while, her fears started kicking in. How long can I keep from feeding? What’s going to happen if I loose control? “ Guess so.” She agreed with him. How long is this going to last?

He ocasinally gazed over to Alex. I need to start some kind of conversation to help pass the time. He grabbed his phone from his pocket and check to see if he had any servous. None. He put the cell phone back into his jean pocket and offered a smile to Alex. "So, Alex, what grade are you in?"
After a moment he felt a slight sting from his palm where just two days ago he got cut from the palm to the wrist by some Ghost or a sick man playing dumb pranks. His mother being a worry wart asked various questions, but how can Ashton tell her that the old man was a ghost? The hospital did some stitches and now Ashton has bandages wrapped around his hand and wrist. Crap, my stitches are opening up.
Aston thought of Alex and how she didn't seem to like blood. He put his hand behind his back, acting as though he was scratching his back and left it there. Ashton said,"Do you always come to the library this late?"

Set your thoughts on a world far off Where we only cry from joy Alex did the same and sat down on the floor. She extended her legs and sat her purse in her lap. Might as well be comfortable since this is going to last for so long. Her thoughts kept on wandering to how she almost lost control back there. What am I going to do? His blood smells so appealing. She licked her lips out of habit as that thought entered her mind. I don’t want to attack him, but if I see more I’m just going to have to ask to help him out. She was startled out of her thoughts by his question. “ I’m a junior.” Alex answered with an inward snicker to herself. She’s had to go through school so many times now. It’s just too ridiculous. However, she knew it was necessary in order to keep a low profile. She decided after she graduated this year that enough was enough. She was going to live in her apartment that she owned. " How about yourself?” she asked out of curiosity. Her nose could smell another source of blood from him. She had to ball her right hand into a fist to keep a hold of herself. When he moved his hand, the scent eased up a bit. So, it was coming from his hand. Should I ask him about it, or should keep my mind off of blood? Maybe I’ve played with too much fire today. I’ll ask him about it later. Once again, she was snapped out of her thoughts by his other question. “ Yeah, I’m pretty much a night owl.” Alex smirked. More than he knows. “ Staying up late is something I like to do. This library is a place for me to relax and hang out.” She added. Words couldn’t describe her love for this library. “ I love to read and learn new things.” She smiled. “ How about you? Do you like to come here this late?” she asked.

Ashton then displayed a playful smirk,"That means I can order you around. You have to respect your elders." He pointed a thumbs up to himself.
Yeah, I’m pretty much a night owl. Staying up late is something I like to do. This library is a place for me to relax and hang out. I love to read and learn new things. How about you? Do you like to come here this late? Ashton smild while she spoke but when she asked him if he liked coming to the library at night he couldn't help but laugh. "Me? Oh no, no, no. I'm not like that," he paused to think about what he just said,"Uh... not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm either out partying with friends, helping mom out or visiting my dad in the hospital."
Mentioning his father made Ashton a bit uncomfortable. He scratched his head and froze when he noticed red. Idiot... Ashton momentaryly forgot about his wounded hand and scratched his head with it. He glanced over to Alex and hid his hand at the same. Hope she didn't see that. But he had a feeling she did.

Set your thoughts on a world far off Where we only cry from joy Alex was slightly surprised that he graduated. He seemed like he was still in school. She inwardly smirked at how he was teasing about him being older. If only he knew who the real elder was around here. I have years on him. “ Yeah, you seem to act younger than you are.” Alex commented with a smirk. “ But, don’t worry. I’ll still respect you.” Alex smiled. “ Of course - since I’m a lady- you’ll need to respect me too.” She teased. Of course, he also should keep on being nice to me so I don’t have a reason to attack in defense. She was interested at his response to her questions. The corners of her mouth turned up when he laughed. She rose a brow when he said he wasn’t like that. What’s that supposed to mean? When he said that there was nothing wrong with it, she couldn’t help but laugh. “ So, you’re the partying social guy, huh?” she grinned. By his personality, she could tell that what he said was true. He did seem like the partying person. “ I like hanging out with people. I don’t like spending too much time with my family.” She admitted. It was half of the big picture. Alex didn’t spend time with her parents at all. Not since she moved out of their manor that is. Alex was sad that his relations with his father weren’t the best. She could relate to that in a way. Some of the ideals and beliefs her dad practiced didn’t click with her. She believed other things and didn’t see eye to eye on some of the family traditions. Her nose smelled the blood more clearly. She couldn’t take it anymore. Maybe a few hypothetical questions wouldn’t hurt anyone. “ Alright, this is going to seem a little weird.” She started. “ I have a few hypothetical questions. Just answer them as honestly as possible.” She finished with an assuring smile. Here goes the big question. “ What would you think if someone asked if they could help you by licking the blood off?” she curiously asked.
