The smell of freshly made coffee slithered through the halls of the beach house Matt rented for them, and bit Sunni in the nose. Sunni's eyes opened slightly, she stretched in her cozy bed and rolled over on her side to find a picture of her and Matt smiling. Along with the picture was a flower and a letter. Sunni smiled kindheartedly and reached for the letter. She sat up, leaning her back against the head of the bed. Sunni opened the letter and read it. "Wake up sleeping beauty. Today's a special day." Sunni brought the letter to her lips and kissed it. I'm so glad he invited me to spend a couples weeks at the beach with him. I adore the fact it's only me and him. Oh god what if he's finally going to reveal his true feelings for me? Then I can return the favor since I really do love him.
Sunni jumped out of bed, speed walking to her closet and skimming through her cloths for a jogging outfit. Maybe we can go jogging then go on some romantic picnic! God I'm a fool for old fashion romance. Sunni laughed inwardly finding a reasonable jogging outfit and throwing it on. She followed the sweet scent of mocha frappe. and grinned revealing her pearly white teeth. She entered the kitchen to find Matt looking smashing as ever. "Hey there good looking," Sunni teased and displayed a smirk. Matt turned with a wide smile,"Sunni, great your up. I made you some coffee. Your favorite." Sunni was flattered and grabbed a coffee mug and poured some in. She brought the mug to her lips, but paused and placed it back on the counter. "Matt. I was wondering if you'd like to go jogging with me. Then we could go on a romantic-" Matt perked up on the word "romantic". "Romantic?" Sunni over flooded with embarrassment and quickly recovered herself, "Did i say romantic? I meant fun and exciting!" How embarrassing. "Actually. I had something else planed." Sunni perked up, excited he planned their day together. "Oh really, what's that?" Matt took another sip of his coffee before placing it on the counter next to Sunni's mug. "I want you to meet someone." The doorbell suddenly rang and Matt seemed to be excited with glee as he jogged to the door and opened it. He invited in the new visitor and she was rather beautiful. And dressed up. Sunni offered a small smile. "She came early. Sunni, this is Megan..." Sunni nodded, "Nice to meet-" "...my present girlfriend and future wife." Sunni's eyes widened. She shook her head and relaxed, "Sorry, did you say future wife?" Matt nodded. It felt as though someone kicked the air right out of Sunni. She felt weak inside and out. "I'm going to go jogging." Sunni mumbled the words and raced out of the beach house. She dashes across the street and ended up running along the beach shore. Why didn't he tell me?! I never knew he was "taken"! He could have told me when they started even dating! Why do I feel so betrayed!? He bloody should have said something when.. when we... Tears stung her ears. Suddenly it started to rain, so she ducked under the Surfside pier to avoid getting too wet. She hugged her knee's into her chest, buried her head in her knee's and silently started crying. I AM A MAN OF SIX FEET TALL ,JUST LOOKING FOR SOME ANSWERS ,( IN A WORLD THAT ANSWERS NONE OF THEM AT ALL ! ) - - - - - - - - - -
"Meet me at Surfside Beach. Now." Zane had his phone on speakerphone, so he didn't have to keep it up to his ear. He groaned and rolled out of his bed, ending up falling to the floor of his room. Great. Ian just got his heart broken, and I, of all his friends, have to listen to him. But Zane was Ian's closest friend. They were like brothers, even looked alike. Ian was about the same built as Zane, and his dark brown hair was cut almost the same. But Ian was about an inch shorter than zane, which ment he stood at 6 feet. Yes, Zane was pretty tall. Zane stood and slowly made his way toward his closet, picking a random outfit and slipped it on. All his clothes were pretty much the same so he really didn't have to try to match. Zane took his time, never rushing himself, which got on Ian's nerves. Ian was always rushing himself, having to do something instantly.
Zane wandered into the living room of his apartment and glanced at the T.V, which was still on. "85 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms..." Zane didn't hear the rest. Instead of watching the T.V he was in the kitchen, grabbing something quickly. Which was cereal. When he was done, he set the bowl in the sink and grabbed his keys from the counter, turning off the T.V as he passed it. He turned the lights off and was out the door ten seconds later.
"She said I was too wild, crazy, and loud. I mean, she should just accept me the way I am." God. Shut him up. Usually, a regular teenage boy would stay silent about their girl troubles, but not Ian. He loved to be listened to. So, Zane had heard these stories since they were both fifteen years old, when Ian started dating. Zane only pretended to listen, but instead he looked around. He and Ian probably seemed out of place. They were in jeans at the beach, where people wore shorts and swimsuits. But Zane could care less, even though he was wearing a sweatshirt. "Dude, I gotta go. She just called and wanted to see me. See ya!" Zane nodded and watched Ian run the way they had come from.
Zane found himself wandering on the beach alone. He looked ahead and noticed he was heading toward the Surfside Pier, getting closer and closer. He was one of those people who wore jackets even in the one-hundred degrees weather, but he didn't wear them all the time. Only when he thought they'd come in handy. Like now, when Zane felt a cold water drop hit his skin. It was starting to rain. But only a minute later, it was like the clouds decided to pour water buckets on everyone, and everyone ran to get shelter or go home. Zane only put his hood over his head and kept walking until he was only yards away from the pier. He saw a figure, a girl, with her knees up to her chest and her head on her knees. Like she was upset. Zane's curiosity got the best of him and he walked over to her, under the pier, and sat beside her with a smile. "You know, a pretty girl like you shouldn't be crying,"
He spoke without looking at her, "So, why are you? If you don't mind me asking?" ( SUNNI ROXEANNE DRIFTWOOD, OPEN) ( O U T F I T ) ( ON THE BRIGHTSIDE NEVERSHOUTNEVER) ( :] ) ( BROOKE FROM CAUTION )[/sup][/blockquote][/blockquote]

I'm such an idiot ! He had me wrapped around his little finger making me believe he loved me ! I was so excited to learn that we were going to spend weeks at the beach with just us... but then what's her face had to pop up and ruin everything ! No... maybe she just opened my eyes...I don't know. Sunni debated whether she still loved Matt or hated him. But right now she knew she felt betrayed. Sunni did have a hope in this betrayal: Matt will come running after her. Tell her how much he actually loved her just had issues.
Someone plopped down beside her. She perked her head up, hoping to God it was Matt. "You know, a pretty girl like you shouldn't be crying." But it was a total stranger that came to her. This is pathetic. A total strangers comes to my aid and not a long time pal like Matt. He must want me thrown out... be some trash. Sunni chuckled softly, staring forward, and closing her eyes before opening them again slightly. "Is that the best pick up line you got?"
"So, why are you? If you don't mind me asking?" Sunni turned her upper-body away from him. She swiftly wiped her eyes clean of tears,"I'm not crying. It was the rain." Sunni stood up and wiped her butt clean of sand. "And I do mind." There's no way I'm telling a complete stranger something so personal. He wouldn't understand anyway. She observed him. If she wasn't so wrapped up on Matt, she'd say this guy was a complete eye candy.
Sunni sighed, turning to leave. But the second she turned a loud thunder roared. Sunni let out a small scream then bending down on her heels covering her ears. Damn! How could I not look at the weather before coming out here! Ugh curse you stupid future wife! Sunni was terrified of thunderstorms. She believes it's God trying to strike her down for her deeds. Matt why aren't you here when I need you!
A man can jogging down side the pier, having seen the two under the pier from a building. He was a life guard and it was his duty to find people who don't understand the dangers of thunderstorms at the beach. The waves were growing bigger and bigger and the shore line was rising. "Hey! You kids can't be our here it's dangerous!"

"Is that the best pick up line you got?" Zane had to at least chuckle at this. "Wasn't trying,"
He replied. He watched her for a moment before adding, "Just complimenting, Miss." He smiled a bit. That was the truth. He wasn't like Ian, who wanted a relationship right after another, like he had to be with a girl. Zane wasn't too interested. Unless you really catch his attention, he'll just smile at you and walk away. But he wasn't going to do this to this girl, but he really didn't think about a relationship either. "I'm not crying. It was the rain. And I do mind." Zane shook his head and stood up with her. Lie numero uno. About how many more? He could tell she had been crying because of the tear streaks down her cheeks, and the rain couldn't make those streaks. Well, they could, but I doubt her cheeks would still be wet. Plus, Zane could easily tell if someone was lying. Well, most of the time. He just had that talent. "Well...I'm sorry for asking and caring." Zane offered her a small smile and turned his head to see a lifeguard jogging toward them. "Hey! You kids can't be out here it's dangerous!" Zane watched him for just a moment before glanced at his jaw. He pictured a disembodied fist rearing back, then letting itself make hard contact with the lifeguard's jaw. But not too hard. "What the-my jaw!" At the exact same time, the lifeguard's head jerked to the side. His eyes were wide with confusion and fear. Enough fear to leave them be and disappear toward the parking lot. Zane smirked and looked at the girl. Polite to introduce myself, wouldn't it?... "I'm Zane. And you are?" ( SUNNI ROXEANNE DRIFTWOOD, OPEN) ( O U T F I T ) ( ON THE BRIGHTSIDE NEVERSHOUTNEVER) ( :] ) ( BROOKE FROM CAUTION )[/sup][/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Wasn't trying. Just complimenting, Miss." Sunni's eye's widened a bit then she glared at the kid. I'm not that old ! "Don't call me 'Miss'." "Well...I'm sorry for asking and caring." Sunni rolled her eyes. Ugh. That was mean. But I can't be nice to a total stranger. It's just something I learned here on Earth. You can't trust everyone so easily. Or they'll betray you... Matt popped into her head, drowning her thoughts in their memories. Sunni could feel tears stinging her eyes, but she forced them to disappear. "What the-my jaw!" Sunni could here a man crying out. As though he's in pain. She forced herself to glanced to the side and discover what was happening. She found a life guard leaving the pier. When did he get here? Why did he cry out in pain...? Sunni stood up straight and acted casual when the guy turned his attention away from the life guard and back to Sunni. My God, did he not hear my scream? He didn't notice my reaction to the thunder at all... Sunni chuckled softly. That's good I suppose. "I'm Zane. And you are?" Sunni chuckled, "Like I'm really going to tell you-" "Sunni !" Sunni was interrupted by a way too familiar voice to not recognize as Matt. Sunni spun around, eyes widened, watching Matt race over to her. He came...wait don't act surprise or happy! Sunni shrugged off her happy feeling and replaced it with a casual blank stare. Matt parked himself in front of Sunni, catching his breath before he spoke. "Sunni...I.." Go on...go on...say it! "I...say the weather and it said there was a thunderstorm... so I came to check on you." Sunni want to bust out crying, but held her blank stare. He... he...I...what? Sunni lowered her stared, then casually glanced over to Zane. Sunni displayed a wicked smirk. Time to hit fire, with fire. Sunni smiled to Matt, "Oh Matt. I didn't want to find out like this. But I also have something to tell you. This is my boyfriend...Zane." She placed a hand on his shoulder for a brief second then replaced it by her side. Matt raised a brow, "Really..." Sunni nodded. Matt laughed, "There's no way. You would have told me." Sunni sighed, "Would I do this if he wasn't my boyfriend?" Sunni leaned her frame into his. She ran her hand through his hair and gently pulled his lips to hers. She made sure to make it deep and long. When she parted a smirk played on her lips. She stepped away from Zane and watched Matt. Who appeared shocked. Now you know how it feels. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • OUTFIT! jogging, go ! NOTES! blank ! TAGS! OPEN ! INSPIRATION! "Don't call me 'Miss'." Zane smiled and shook his head, "At least I didn't call you Ma'am. What else am I supposed to call you? Blondie?" It took a lot of effort to push Zane's buttons if you were a girl, unlike guys. Besides his slight anger problem, he had a kind and caring heart. He knew calling her "Miss" may make her feel....well, older than him. Maybe just plain old. But he was right. He didn't know her name so what else should he call her? And he was about to find out.
"Like I'm really going to tell you-" Zane narrowed his eyes, Of course not. When he heard a male voice, he spun around to see a boy running toward them. "Sunni!" Zane smiled and shook his head, speaking before the boy reached them,"Well, nice to meet you, Sunni." He chuckled and watched the boy approach them. "Sunni...I..I...saw the weather and it said there was a thunderstorm... so I came to check on you." Zane remembered he had heard a short scream when thunder roared just minutes ago. But he didn't think it was her. He raised a brow and looked at her. Afraid of thunderstorms...? But he wasn't laughing at her. Instead, he felt sorry for her.
Zane noticed a wicked smirk on Sunni's lips and watched curiously. "Oh Matt. I didn't want to find out like this. But I also have something to tell you. This is my boyfriend...Zane." Zane was caught off guard. What the...? But then he figured it out,She's trying to make him jealous...of course! Zane felt her hand on his shoulder, but only for a second. Zane looked at the ground, then at Matt. "Really... There's no way. You would have told me." Zane glanced between Sunni and Matt. Brother...? Cousin..? Friend..? He was trying to figure out what it was, but his thoughts were interuppted when he felt Sunni's fram leaning into his thin, yet built one. He only stareda t her as she ran her fingers through his hair. But it still surprised him when she kissed him, even though he knew what was going on. Act casual.. Zane hand was placed onto her mid-back as they kissed. But he didn't return the kiss, just let her press her lips to his. The whole time, Zane was tense. And when she pulled away, his hand dropped back to his side and he only watched her with slightly confused eyes. I'm being used...that's just great...

"He...wha..." Matt was taken completely aback about this whole Sunni dating Zane thing. Which Sunni was enjoying since it resembled her own pain. Excepted her's tripled more than he knows. Crap....he got my name out of this I forgot... Sunni sighed. Matt shook his head,"I don't believe you Sunni. Even if you kissed him. You would have told me. Besides... he doesn't act like he's your boyfriend." Matt walked over to Sunni and gently grabbed her hand. "Stop playing around. Her hands clinched, and then.... she burst... "I can't believe you! After everything you just... you just..." Sunni's tear gripping eyes shot up to glare at Matt, "You just betray me like I was nothing! How long were the two of you even together?! "I don't believe you Sunni. Even if you kissed him. You would have told me. Besides... he doesn't act like he's your boyfriend. Stop playing around. Let's get out of this storm." Zane watched Sunni jerk her hand away from the boy and was suddenly curious. Excuse me for being kiss by a girl I just met a couple minutes ago...how else am I supposed to act? He glanced between Matt and Sunni, raising a brow.

Zane glanced at Matt's cheek, then in a second, pictured a hand slapping him as hard as it could. At the exact moment, Matt's head jerked to the side. Hopefully they'll both be confused, but won't blame me. I'll just act like I'm confused...

Sunni pictured herself slapping Matt, but she could get the nerve to actually race her fragile and and make it come across Matt's charming face. SLAP! The sound hit Sunni by surprise. Matt's hand snapped to the side, with his hand following behind to gently trace his cheek. Sunni's eye's widened a bit. What...just happened? Matt took a moment to regain himself. He glanced over to Sunni, chuckled a bit then said,"I didn't think you had the nerve to slap me Sunni. It was so fast, I didn't see it coming." Sunni shook her head slowly, staring at Matt. But I....I didn't do anything...my angel abilities are healing...not causing pain...I couldn't have... But she took the blame anyway. "I'm so sorry, Matt! I don't know...what...happened...
Matt shook his head and glared at Zane. "Your not her boyfriend," Matt then glared at Sunni."I can't believe you'd kiss a total stranger just to make me jealous." Sunni never could get anything by Matt. Sunni lowered her gaze to the sand. Sudden a lighting hit the beach yards away and roared a loud thunder roar. Sunni screamed, covering her ears. Go away, go away! Matt took a step forward, placing a reassuring hand on Sunni's shoulder. Sunni slapped his hand away. "Leave me alone! Go run off with your stupid wife! Zane chuckled at Sunni's confusion, and Matt's surprised expression. ,"I didn't think you had the nerve to slap me Sunni. It was so fast, I didn't see it coming." Zane shook his head slowly and glanced between Sunni and Matt. She doesn't, my friend. She doesn't have the nerve, but I do. Zane sighed softly and listened to them silently once again,"I'm so sorry, Matt! I don't know...what...happened..." Zane coud tell that was the truth.
Zane only smirked when Matt glared at him. "Your not her boyfriend. I can't believe you'd kiss a total stranger just to make me jealous." I can't believe it either... Zane looked at the sky just as lightning struck the beach and heard a scream. He raised a brow and looked over at Sunni, who covered her ears. Scared of storms... Before he knew it, he saw a hand on Sunni's shoulder, but that didn't last long before she slapped it away. "Leave me alone! Go run off with your stupid wife!"
Zane watched her dash into the storm and looked back at Matt, who had called after her. He shook his head in disgust and backed away a couple of steps before he turned on his heels and ran after Sunni. He didn't have to put much effort into running before he caught up with her and gently grabbed her hand to stop her. His grip was gentle, yet tight enough to where she couldn't pull away from him. He spoke with a calm voice,"Hey, hey. Calm down. Don't just go running into the storm, it's dangerous. I'm sure you don't want to go back under the pier, so I'll take you home. Does that sound alright?"

The rain drops prickled her flesh. Her blond locks dripping wet, attaching to her face. Another thunder let out it's roar. Sunni swallowed her scream when a warm hand grabbed her own. Matt! Sunni was pulled to a stop. She turned slightly to discover it wasn't Matt, but Zane. Again, Zane comes to my aid... and Matt's...no where. Sunni tried to force his grip away, but of course it had to be impossible. "Let go," she struggled against his grip,"Look I'm not some damsel in distress! I'm not some stupid poor girl needing her daddy! Or a hero! So let me be!" All lies. She wanted to be saved.... her father -God- and a hero. She added another lie,"I can take care of myself!"
The sand beneath her shoes were now mud. Upon pulling against his grip, she slipped under him and brought both of them down in the mud. Sunni felt his weight on her, but it was warm, so she didn't mind it too much. She was wet, shivering, and probably getting a cold. She relaxed her tension. Sunni caught her breath, staring up at the sky where God may have been crying for her. A single tear crawled down her cheek.

She's impossible... Zane shook his head and watched her go on and on. "Look I'm not some damsel in distress!" Zane chuckled, Lie number two "I'm not some stupid poor girl needing her daddy!" Three. "Or a hero!" Four "I can take care of myself!" Five. Zane chuckled and shook his head slowly. She'll probably tell ten more before the day's over. Count: 5 lies so far, and it's been half and hour.
Zane was suddenly on the ground. Well, ontop of her. It took him a little bit to figure out what happened. He pushed himself up a little with his arms, with just about two inches between their bodies. He watched her, then noticed a single tear crawling down her cheek. She must be devistated. It seems like she's in love with Matt.. Zane took his index finger and ran it down her cheek until her tear had disappeared, and the streak it left behind. "I know, I know...you don't want my help." He offered her a smile.

Sunni woke up from her thoughts feeling a warm finger trance the streak her tear scared her face with earlier. She gazed into his eyes. There faces were only inches away from one another. She could taste his breath and feel it tickle her skin. Aside from the rain and the storm, she felt very safe with him. But that could be her fear hoping for that hero. "I know, I know...you don't want my help." When he smiled, Sunni's eye's widened just a tad. It's like he already knows I'm lying. That took Matt like...a couple weeks. God, why am I comparing the two? Sunni glanced between his rosy lips and his captivating blue eyes. Without much thought to her actions, she leaned forward and planted a kiss on his lips.
Sunni's eyes widen. It was as though she lost control of herself. Sunni pushed away,"Sorry..." How could you do that?! Ugh what if his girlfriend comes by and you break his heart and make both your lives miserable. Sunni shook her head feeling completely guilty. She pulled herself up into a sitting position. "I don't know what came over me, just forget about that..." How embarrassing!

I AM A MAN OF SIX FEET TALL ,JUST LOOKING FOR SOME ANSWERS ,( IN A WORLD THAT ANSWERS NONE OF THEM AT ALL ! ) - - - - - - - - - -
Zane could tell she was calming down, and with him ontop of her. He had the strongest chance of being electracuted, being the one on top and he remembered the lightning striking the beach which could easily happen again. But he didn't mind, he would risk his life for her, but only because she seemed depressed. If it was some "happy go round" blond chick that could care less about anything, he'd step aside just as the lightning struck her. Cruel? Well, not exactly to him.
Zane suddenly felt her lips on his and watched her curiously and confused. First she doesn't want anything to do with me, then she kisses me? What the- His thoughts were interuppted by her apologetic voice. "Sorry..." Zane got off of her as she pulled away and sat in front of her, one knee bent and the other straight. "Don't be," he simply told her and offered an assuring smile. "I don't know what came over me, just forget about that..." Zane chuckled and shrugged. "Just be glad I didn't mind it at all."

"Just be glad I didn't mind it at all." Sunni glanced up to him curiously. Should she take that in a good way or bad way? She choice bad. She wore a disgusted look, shacking her head. Why didn't I see this before? He's a player. No wonder he didn't mind it. He's just someone who you can easily fall for but doesn't return any of your feelings. Right now he's probably acted so cool so I'd be interested. Damn it's working. NO, NO! don't let the loser win! Sunni huffed and stood up, glaring down at the kid.
"Nice try," she told him bluntly. "Almost fell for it." She rolled her eyes and turned away. Sunni wondered away. Where am I going to go? Guess I could rent a room at the hotel... She stopped and sneezed. Ah! Great! I got a cold! She sighed. Just then another thunder rumbled. Sunni bit her tongue to keep her from screaming. She could taste blood, that's how hard she bit down.
